Black Lives Matter

The Legal Aid Society joins our community in mourning the loss of Breonna Taylor and David McAtee.   But as we grieve, we also stand at the ready to serve and to pursue justice through civil legal matters for our clients who have unequal access to the judicial system.  For one hundred years Legal Aid Society has walked with those in poverty so they may have equal justice under the law. We are continuing to walk with you. We know Louisville and our nation is hurting.

We are ready to help with the healing.

Our service area includes Breckinridge, Bullitt, Grayson, Hardin, Henry, Jefferson, Larue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, Trimble, and Washington Counties in Kentucky.

Upcoming Clinics and Events

Legal Aid Society hosts many legal clinics and educational sessions on a variety of issues.  Additionally, we participate in community events, hold Continuing Legal Education opportunities for volunteer attorneys, and host fundraising events throughout the year.

Legal Aid Society’s priority is the health and safety of our clients, staff, volunteers and the community we serve.  In light of recommendations regarding health risks and large group gatherings, Legal Aid Society is cancelling our current group client clinic events.  We will update our clinic list online as we bring these back into service.  Please know Legal Aid Society’s intake department is open for business and these group clinics will be rescheduled at a later date.  If you have any questions about other services, clinics or events, please call us at 502-584-1254.
